OPGA celebrate the success of past student, Michael Warner, Herald Sun Journalist.
Recently, Michael’s incredible talent won him the distinguished 2021 ‘Gold Quill Award’ for his story ‘Do better: The Secret Collingwood Racism Report’. Michael also won the Best Sports Report Award and The Harry Gordon Australian Sports Journalist of the Year for his reporting on the AFL. Established by the Melbourne Press Club, The Quill Awards recognise excellence in Victorian Journalism and celebrate the best work in over 30 categories across all media. Incredibly, in 2020, another past PGS student Russell Jackson '02 also won the Gold Quill Award for his feature on the life and career of Aboriginal AFL player Robert Muir.
