Penturion Club Lunch - 50+ Reunion

On Sunday the 28th of April, OPGA hosted the annual Penturion Club Lunch, inviting all alumni who graduated from Peninsula 50 years ago or more. We honoured the Class of 1974, inducting them as the newest members of the Penturion Club.

We thank Doug Thring for helping co-ordinate this special event and for encouraging the wonderfully talented Bill McDonough '70 to read some excerpts from his new book 'Sons of Beaches' which is all about his time in the iconic rock band, Australian Crawl with his late brother Guy '72. Stories were shared of his time training in the school pool under swim teacher Ken McGarvin, with the entire room of attendees laughing in response to Bill's clever reenactments and and humorous anecdotes, which vividly brought his memories to life and created a truly memorable lunch for everyone present.

We were also thrilled to see past staff members, Roger Ball, Neil Chapple, Philippa Chapple, Phil Mannes, Neil Taylor, Steve Brennan and Graeme Parrott in attendance.

After such a successful event, OPGA encourages all alumni from the Classes of 1975 and prior to attend the Penturion Club lunch in 2025.
