OPCC Update - Issue 4Old Peninsula Cricket Club

Last season was one of the most successful in the Club's history. We have some incredible players coming up through the ranks, plus some established players providing fantastic role models to the juniors. On the 16th of March, Deb Gardener (PGS Head of Sport), together with the support from OPGA and Shaun Payze, organised an alumni all stars vs 1st XI match on the Harry Mac. Past AGSV premiership teams were honoured including 2015/16 and 91/92 teams. Thankyou to everyone involved in this event and we look forward to continuing the tradition in 2023 and beyond!

Results from the season:

First XI Premiers

Old Peninsula 7/217defeated Sorrento 180

Tom La Brooy 79 not out, Dylan O’Malley 44, Justin Grant 41, Will Crowder 5/26

4th XI Premiers

Old Peninsula 9/160 defeated Baden Powell 113

Shane Smith 40, Simon Stone 30, Matthew Stone 4/18

OPCC also won premierships at the under 16 and under 12 level and awarded the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association club championship for Season 2021/22, being the most successful club on the Peninsula. On behalf of OPGA, congratulations on such fantastic results and well done to all involved. In particular, we take our hats off to Andrew Parsons and the committee for all the sacrifices made to support the players and for all the work done behind the scenes to ensure the ongoing success of OPCC.
