Chapel of the Resurrection, Peninsula Grammar
Renewal and extension of the Memorial Garden and Memorial Wall.
Dear Community Members,
We are pleased to share that together with the support of Peninsula Grammar, Old Peninsula Grammarians’ Association is planning a special project to refresh and extend our beloved Memorial Garden at The Chapel of the Resurrection. This much needed initiative aims to enhance the serenity and beauty of this sacred space, ensuring it remains a fitting tribute to the cherished memories of those who have touched our lives.
Request to connect:
At this stage, we are gathering the details of those who may have a special interest in the project. This may include individuals who have ashes of loved ones interred in the Memorial Garden, a plaque on the Memorial Wall or it may include those with commemorative furniture, plaques etc within the Chapel itself. It also includes those who would like to stay up to date on the project for personal reasons or interests. We ask alumni / school / community members to fill in the following survey prior to 31 August. MEMORIAL GARDEN PROJECT.
Alternatively, you can email us at opga@pgs.vic.edu.au.
OPGA is dedicated to preserving the significance and sanctity of the garden, recognising its profound importance to many in our community. Once we have gathered details from our stakeholders, we will host both online and in-person information sessions later this year to share plans and scope of work. Our commitment is to ensure that the redesign honours the memory and legacy of loved ones, while creating a peaceful haven and addressing future interment needs and commemorative activities. Please be assured that there will be minimal impact on the existing area of interment.
In the future, OPGA will seek financial contributions for the project, offering an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy and to contribute to our efforts. OPGA welcomes confidential discussions about this when the time comes.
Any questions in the meantime can be directed to Laura Vatousios (Alumni Manager) or David Clarke (OPGA President) using this email address:
Yours faithfully,
David Clarke
